Spring 2022 Welcome Letter

Dear Parents,


Welcome to the Spring 2022 Baseball Season! We hope you and your players are looking forward to a season full of growth and lots of fun!

We appreciate your patience, as the league works behind the scenes to kick-start our baseball season. Here is some information on what to expect this season:

Fields: The City of Santa Ana is performing maintenance on the fields/diamonds at Memorial Park, our homebase, and fields will be closed through mid-March. In the meantime, we will be scheduling practices at Madison Park, Cabrillo Park, and Portola Park.

Practice: A practice schedule is being put together by the league at the moment, but you can expect practices to be held twice a week, either on weekday evenings or Saturday morning. 

You will receive a text message with the details for the first practice, once the information is confirmed. Please try your best to arrive at each practice 5-10 minutes prior to start time.

Games: Games will be on weekday evenings and on Saturdays (approx. 2 games a week per team), and will last approximately two hours. Being on time is critical. Please try and arrive at games 30 minutes before game time so players have ample opportunity for a team meeting and warm-up. If your child will not be at a game or practice, please notify their assigned coach. If your child is sick, we’d rather have them miss a game or practice and rest rather than risk getting other children sick. In the event of rain, you will receive a text message from your assigned coach, should it affect the practice/game schedule.

Team Rosters/Coaches: Because registration is still open, team rosters have not been finalized. Therefore, some divisions will be practicing together until they can be split into teams. 

With that said, we are in need of Coaches and Assistant Coaches for several divisions. If you are interested in helping out at practices and games, please fill out the Volunteer Form at the snack bar. The league will run a background check on all prospective volunteers. You will need to be cleared by the league before beginning any type of volunteer services. 

Apparel: The league provides each player with a cap. Your player should also bring an age-appropriate glove, sweatshirt, and a water bottle. Please be sure to label your player's items. Uniform purchases are on hold at the moment; the league is working on finalizing team rosters and will send out the link for Nike shortly after. 


Fundraisers:  Each player is expected to participate in league fundraising, unless parents have opted for a buy-out. This season, some of our fundraising efforts will include: raffle ticket sales, Jamba Juice BOGO cards, Krispy Kreme BOGO cards, and Big5 coupon cards. This season, the league has also decided to allow each team the opportunity to sell at the snack bar on select dates (TBA), with a portion of the proceeds going back to each team.


Upcoming Dates:Opening Ceremony is scheduled for Friday, March 18th, from 6pm - 8pm. To keep with tradition, this year’s theme will be Carnival. Each team will be expected to set up a booth and we will be asking for donations for each team’s game and prizes. This is the biggest event of the season and is lots of fun, so please be sure to invite your family and friends!

Picture Day is scheduled for Sunday, March 27th. You will receive a flyer with pricing information as we approach the date.
